Meet Marjorie and Tess

For over twenty years of event planning and production, Marjorie and Tess have made time-honored service the centerpiece of their partnership. It has taken them to the worlds of elite cultural and political institutions, film and television, award presentations, theatre and more. It has spanned public and private, intimate and expansive, fancy and informal.

Marjorie grew up in New York and was trained as a cook in some of the city’s most legendary restaurants--among them the Union Square Café and Gotham Bar and Grill.  After a decade working with the best chefs in the business, she opened Marjorie’s Kitchen, an event and catering company, in Chelsea, in the 90s. Her philosophy was simple: that a fine restaurant should not be the only place to experience extraordinary service and food. Marjorie’s art school background instilled a strong visual sensibility in her as well … elevating the presentation of each plate, each meal, each event to a stunning new level.

Tess is from Cork, Ireland, where she attended art school, and worked in her mother’s neighborhood flower shop. She trained in floristry in London before coming to New York to begin an illustrious career in flower design. Tess started at the Carlyle Hotel and then opened her studio, Aisling Flowers, in the Flower District, in the early 90s. Aisling has since developed a high-profile name for camera-ready, environmentally-friendly flower arrangements for television and movies, while working with select private and corporate clients on wedding and event planning, décor and management.

Together, Marjorie and Tess produce events with creativity, inventiveness and attentiveness. That’s mighty Minty!
